Wendy M. Vera, a native of Ecuador, immigrated to the United States at the age of nineteen. Initially residing in New York City, she later relocated to Rochester, NY, where she now lives with her husband, son, and two cherished dogs.
Wendy is a dedicated fifth-year PhD candidate at the University at Buffalo. Her scholarly research delves into the representation of indigenous women in literature, spanning from colonial times to the present, with a focus on public discourse. Wendy holds a Master’s degree in Spanish Literature and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies.
Passionate about community engagement, Wendy actively contributes to her local community and her church, Light of the World Assembly of God Church. She has held the role of Board Secretary at Latinas Unidas, an organization devoted to empowering and uniting Latina women in the community.
